Fairytale Wedding in Houston

Once upon in a faraway land, a magnificent castle was hidden deep within the heart of an ancient forest. Its towering spires peeking through the lush green canopy like a secret whispered by the woods themselves, the castle was a place where dream weddings came true.

The castle is Chateau Nouvelle, a 37,000 square-foot French-inspired castle tucked away privately in a forested corner of Northwest Houston and a venue that hosts fairytale-like weddings and leaves couples and guests feeling like they have stepped into a storybook.

I had the opportunity to shoot my first editorial wedding photoshoot at this location and I can attest to the veracity of all the statements above: It was nothing but a dream. The architecture and grandiosity of the spaces, the Italian-inspired painted murals and lush gardens. This venue has left a lasting impression on me. I could have never imagined such a stunning location could exist in Texas.

On this day, I also met Courtney and Garnett, the couple assigned to this photoshoot, who was also a real-life married couple. During our interactions, there were no doubts those souls were deeply in love.

As a photographer, my job is to observe, and it is always fascinating to me to see how each couple’s interaction is so unique, yet the moment they stare into each other’s eyes deeply, you can witness and feel their love and connection.

You could tell Courtney and Garnett’s love was very much alive. They had been married for a few years, and having this experience together at Chateau Nouvelle made them recall their own wedding stories and the day they exchanged their vows.

The highlight of the evening was working with an impressive team of creatives who put so much thought and effort into bringing this vision to life. Every single detail was thought through. From the location, the flower arrangements, the gowns, the decoration, and even the professional musicians who performed live during the shoot. Everything was impeccable.

The amount of work and creativity poured into this project was overwhelming, and to join and collaborate with such an amazing team of professionals is always inspiring. The exposure to so many different environments, perspectives, and ideas, despite the challenges, allows me to expand myself creatively. It also made me realize the sky is indeed the limit when crafting an unforgettable wedding experience.
